Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most definitely! So long as the frame passes our optician's durability inspection, we have no problem re-using your favorite frame. Keep in mind that our brand new frames that we carry all come with a one year warranty. There is no warranty for using your own frame.

  • We remain independent from insurance companies in order to keep our prices lower and our selection catered to a better selection. This means you are free to pay out of pocket at Eye Promise. Depending on your insurance plan, we may be able to submit a reimbursement claim for you. If we are unable to directly send that claim for you, we can provide you with proper billing codes to submit for you to submit to your insurance company. Want to know more? Please give us a call or visit our Services page.

By not accepting insurance we are able to control the cost and quality of what we are selling. Insurance companies tend to dictate which frame lines providers can offer, and since we like to maintain relationships with independent lines, this scenario doesn’t align with our mission. Additionally, we are able to edge the lenses in our in-house lab, something we would not be able to do if we worked with insurance companies.

  • In addition to being Eye Promise Optical, we are also the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation, who help in-need Oregonians acquire eye exams and eyeglasses at very little cost. If you are low-income and believe you’ll qualify for assistance through the Lions, please complete the Get Help Form. Your local Lions Club will then send you an application with an address for you to submit the application. Please be patient with this process, as it can take up to a few weeks before you receive anything. This is due to the availability of funds and the fact that it’s a purely-volunteer run program.

  • We are the Oregon Lion’s Sight & Hearing Foundation! In 2015 we received a grant from the Lions Club International Foundation to build the world’s first ever charitable finishing lab to make high quality low cost eyewear for Oregonians in need. The second part of the grant was to come up with a solution to sustain the charitable efforts. In 2017 we built Eye Promise Optical, LLC in which 100% of the net profits directly support our charitable program. For more information, please click here.
