Our Vision

Your purchase helps the Oregon Sight & Hearing Foundation provide services to those in need locally and worldwide. In 2015 we received a grant from the Lions Club International Foundation to build the world’s first ever charitable finishing lab to make high quality low cost eyewear for Oregonians in need through the Lions Eyeglass Assistance Program. The second part of the grant was to come up with a solution to sustain the charitable efforts. In 2017 we built Eye Promise Optical, LLC in which 100% of the net profits directly support our charitable programs.

Since 2001, OLSHF has partnered with Coffee Creek Correctional Facility’s (CCCF) Paraoptometric Program to provide their students with learning opportunities in recycling and recalibrating hundreds of thousands of used eyeglasses to be used on sight missions worldwide through our Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center. In 2019, we decided to expand the partnership with CCCF and develop the LEAP Forward Internship Program, creating an environment full of mentorship, career development and optical training in order to bridge the gap between incarceration and their future career within the vast world of optics. Thanks to our network of vision providers and a local independent surfacing lab, we are able to enrich the resumes and lives of several women each year.
